A good blank must be particularly sensitive.

Nymphing with a tight line requires a long, light rod that allows for easy casting of a two-nymph rig, control of the drift, and sensitivity to the nymphs' behavior in the water.

A key characteristic of nymphing with a tight line is that a good blank must be particularly sensitive to transmit both the contact with the bottom and the subtle bites. Thanks to their geometry and lightness, Lighthouse blanks offer magnificent sensitivity, even with light rigs.

In our design specifications, we had in mind that the nymph angler might decide at any moment to switch fishing techniques and switch from fly line to target a rise with a dry fly. In other situations, they might prospect with a large dry fly and a nymph in tandem. These blanks therefore had to be perfectly capable of casting a fly line. Their responsiveness and precision in tip control make them excellent casters, a delight on light lines. Our blanks are designed, in terms of size, power, and versatility, to be perfectly suited to the typical waterways and fishing techniques practiced in Europe. Their satin, non-reflective finish allows for particularly discreet approaches, crucial for catching wary fish at close range. Our power recommendations specify both the bead sizes for weighted nymphs and the line weights. Recommended nymphs: 2.2-4mm beads. Recommended lines: WF2 standard to WF3 light.
