Product Description
Lighthouse 9012-4
Like all Lighthouse blanks, this blank first impresses with its power-to-weight ratio. At the very top of its class for power while being one of the lightest on the market, the LH9012 demonstrates that you can comfortably cast a 12-weight line without needing Popeye's forearms. A superb caster, it maintains its composure to send even a 500-grain ultra-sinking line to the backing. Streamlined shooting heads for large flies don't faze it, even when you really need to put some force into the cast. When fighting a fish, the blank demonstrates the expected strength of a 12-weight: the butt section has more than enough power to confidently engage in the fight of a heavyweight.
Usage Recommendations: The core purpose of this blank is undoubtedly big game fishing, in its two main variations: large tarpon in exotic waters, and bluefin tuna in the Mediterranean and Southwest France, up to around 40 kg. It's also a serious option for GT fishing. It's also, of course, a blank capable of handling large catfish, provided you can fight them without using bends that exceed the capabilities of carbon fiber.
Lighthouse Series
A series of blanks designed by and for Europeans, each model precisely corresponding to the techniques practiced in French waters and beyond, from Scandinavia to Spain. High-performance blanks for those who want a rod that allows them to express their full talent.
Each blank in this series has undergone rigorous testing by our experts: passionate anglers, top-level competitors, and advanced casters, in every relevant technical application: dry fly, sight nymphing, nymphing with an indicator, reservoir fishing, streamer fishing for predators, and hunting large predators. Made in South Korea from graphene-enhanced 40T carbon fiber, the blanks in this series benefit from its exceptional lightness and strength. Beyond the material, there is the action; this is where the talent of the design team shines through, making each of these blanks a fabulous fishing tool.
