Product Description
Lighthouse 8614-4
Pure power. Impressive butt stiffness immediately tells you there are no compromises: this blank is a heavyweight. And yet, true to the spirit of the entire Lighthouse range, it remains light in the hand, giving you a sense of agility. When casting, the 8'6" length is no hindrance at all when reaching respectable distances. With a WF12 floating jig head, you feel very comfortable casting with full power. When fishing deep, this 14wt can cast a 700-grain S7 ultra-sinking jig head over 25 meters without flinching. But it's in the fight that this blank truly shines: its enormous power reserve. It can handle truly spectacular drag levels: tested by us well beyond the braking capabilities of an 11-13 wt fly reel. When facing opponents that push the limits of what's reasonable, the 8614 is the weapon needed to tackle titanic battles.
Usage recommendations: This blank is reserved for XXL opponents: very large catfish (when you can fight them without having to use angles impossible for the carbon fiber) but especially the largest saltwater fish that can be targeted with a fly: marlin, sharks, bluefin tuna, giant trevally…
Lighthouse series
A series of blanks designed by and for Europeans, each model of which corresponds precisely to the techniques practiced in French waters and beyond, from Scandinavia to Spain. High-performance blanks for those who want a rod that allows them to fully express their talent. Each blank in this series has undergone rigorous testing by our experts: passionate anglers, top-level competitors, and advanced casters, in every relevant technical application: dry fly, sight nymphing, nymphing with an indicator, reservoir fishing, streamer fishing for predators, and hunting large predators. Made in South Korea from graphene-enhanced 40T carbon fiber sheets, the blanks in this series benefit from its exceptional lightness and strength. Beyond the material, there is the action; this is where the talent of the design team shines through, making each of these blanks a fabulous fishing tool.
